I am postdoctoral associate in the Malik and Subramaniam labs at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, where I aim to explore the evolution of microproteins and their role in immunity.

I am originally from Medellin, a beautiful city in Colombia nested in the Andes. I received my bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Saint Louis University. At SLU, I helped develop a chemical tagging method to enhance the sensitivity of mass spectrometry detection of TCA cycle metabolites in James Edward's lab. I then pursued a PhD in Chemistry at Duke University working with Prof. Emily Derbyshire on host-pathogen interactions in the malaria liver stage.
