Heungwon Park

Staff Scientist

I am a Staff Scientist in the Subramaniam Lab at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. I was born in Seoul, South Korea. I received my bachelor's and master's degrees in Physics from Inha University in Incheon, South Korea. I started my research in theoretical statistical physics and then switched to biophysics for my PhD, which I got at the University of Chicago working with Philippe Cluzel on bacterial chemotaxis. After my PhD, I joined the Nicolas Buchler Lab at the Center for Genomic and Computational Biology in Duke University, where I worked on gene expression dynamics of a synthetic oscillator in budding yeast and bacterial cell size dynamics. Outside the lab, I spend most of my time playing with my three kids.
